Kara Ashman, LMHC

(No longer accepting new patients)

Hi! I am Kara Ashman, LMHC. I have been working in the mental health field for 9 years now, and have been a therapist since I graduated from Ball State University with my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in July of 2018.

I am a person centered therapist and like to approach each new client as an individual, working collaboratively on goals that are meaningful to them. I approach all client's from a trauma-informed lens and have extensive experience in working with children and young adults that have experienced abuse, neglect and complex trauma. I have experience working with all ages and have practiced modalities such as play therapy, DBT, ACT, TF-CBT, family systems and interpersonal counseling. I am passionate about and advocate for neurodivergent affirming treatment. I do not believe in forcing my client's to adhere to societal expectations for setting goals, but instead will always put the client's wants and needs first in treatment.

Outside of the office I am a mother of 5 boys and spend a lot of time on little league fields. I also enjoy painting, crochet, reading, gardening, and video games.

I look forward to getting to know you and working together to reach your goals!
